What Do The Colors You Wear Communicate?

When I saw how Jennifer Butler transformed the image of my friend, Sharla Jacobs (of Rejuvenate Training), I couldn’t wait to have a consultation myself!

I was totally confused about what my colors were. Was I an “Autumn?” Was I a “Winter?”

Below is a picture of Jennifer with me and my beautiful unique color palette. I’m so excited that purple is one of my colors!

According to Jennifer, the natural coloring of your hair, eyes and skin not only determines what colors to wear but also reveals a lot about your personality.

To find out more about what type I am and what that says about me, read on…

Here’s an excerpt from Jennifer’s website that explains more about what she does:

"See how your clothes can be more than a collection of colors and fabrics – a true expression of your genuine essence and personality. See how your “style” can powerfully impact how the world interprets who you are and what you are up to.

Up to 55% of communication is visual. In order to be seen and heard 100% there must be congruence between your inner self, your message, and your external presentation."

Naturally, I was fascinated. Of course I wanted my outsides to match my insides.

So here’s what I found out…

I’m what Jennifer calls an “Exotic Winter.”

Here’s what she says about the Winter personality on her website:

"Dramatic, the observer, reflection. Striking, timelessness, awe inspiring, silhouette, silence.

In the Winter personality we see outer containment, contrasted with the exciting inner dynamic. Winters are abstract thinkers who love culture and the arts, and who represent our finest values in life. Winters are known for being distinguished and for distinguishing themselves, often in the arts and in the art of fine living. The Winter personality is calm and sometimes distant or removed, but with an inner excitement.

The Winter woman is the priestess and moon goddess. Winter women have the ability to deliver the abstractions of life, which are fine values, high principles and masterful living. Jackie Onassis and Peggy Fleming are good of examples of the Winter woman."

Awe inspiring… goddess… masterful living… sounds good to me!

Gift Exchange with My Team

Kim, Miranda, Myself, and Jenny at our last team meeting of the year. After our meeting, we celebrated a great year with lunch at Sandoval’s in Benicia and with our gift exchange.

I don’t know what I would have done this year without these ladies. In my experience, an entrepreneur can only go so far by herself. Without a support team, she can never reach her potential and fully share her gifts with the world.

Miranda helped get all my real estate files organized and re-structured my e-mail system, among other projects, and also managed my property managers (yes, even if you have property managers, someone often needs to manage them)! Because of Jenny, I didn’t have to open mail, file papers, pay bills or enter data in Quicken this year – the best gift ever! Kim is my right-hand girl at running the seminar business. Just wait until next year – she has all sorts of wild and exciting plans for me.

Thank you, Ladies. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This is Miranda’s last team meeting. We are all going to miss her tremendously because not only is she my cousin and a total sweetheart, but she rocks at managing my property managers. Even my CPA is begging her to stay because no one knows how to handle complex real estate financials like Miranda. She’s the master!

But Miranda’s unique ability is the meeting place between competency and passion. She may be extremely competent at this job, but she is also an accomplished artist – and that’s truly where her passion is.

My mission is to support people in living their dreams so of course I’m excited for her finding a job in the art world even though I’ll miss having such a shining star on the team.

Look how cute they are!

Jambo From Tanzania!

I just got back from my first photo safari and learning vacation in Africa. What an experience! I took over 1100 photos, and I’ve posted some of my very favorites here. To see more click here!

This woman is trying to get me to taste some of her banana beer.

I was amazed at how close some of the animals came to the jeeps. The most thrilling incident was when an elephant came right towards my window and our driver quickly moved out of the way. I was so happy that I brought binoculars, too. Here I am checking out a family of elephants in the shade of a Baobab tree (like in the book,
The Little Prince!)

Here I am with some of our amazing guides from Thompson Safaris and one of our jeeps with the tops that pop up for better wildlife viewing. The guides continually amazed me with their ability to spot animals far away. Once they realized that I was starting to pick up some Swahili (I made flashcards on the plane), they started quizzing me.

I was surprised to realize that I already knew some Swahili thanks to Disney’s The Lion King. “Hakuna matata” really does mean “no worries” and “simba” means “lion.”

Baby lions! So cute! There was a whole pride hanging out in the rocks.

Two cheetah brothers, scoping out gazelles.

These lions plunked down right in front of one of our jeeps. It’s like they’re posing.

My favorite wildlife viewings were of big cats.

Hyena and hartebeest stare down.

We turned a corner and suddenly saw sixteen giraffes among the trees. I’d never seen baby giraffes before.

We had the wonderful opportunity to visit a Maasai village.

I was so happy to see so many baby animals on the trip.

Tanzanite is my second favorite gemstone after sapphires. Look at this! Dark, clear and huge! Only $970,000. Can you believe they let me hold it?

Prosperity Retreat in Mendocino

The Fall 2007 Prosperity Retreat was like being transported to another universe. I forgot about my regular day-to-day life and enjoyed the weekend away from it all where my world was full of connecting with like-minded investors, talking about prosperity (my favorite subject!), and eating delicious, healthy, abundant food in beautiful Mendocino, CA.

This is the most connected group I’ve ever seen. Everyone was so supportive of one another. We discussed strategies for our real estate deals, learned HOT systems for managing money and time, and left with exciting action steps.

James Comes To Town

This was my third time meeting James Ray, and I love him more every time. This time, I volunteered to assist him with his evening workshop in Burlingame, CA. I always go home feeling inspired after seeing him.

Real Estate Investors Gone Wild on the Prosperity Buying Tour!

The Prosperity Buying Tour to New York was sensational! We learned what to watch for when buying 100+ year old properties, evaluated income deals and rehabs, ate fried pickles and Buffalo Wings, interviewed team members, made offers, and still made time for a trip to Niagara Falls. Whew!

The camaraderie in the group was wonderful. Who else would have suggested that after a full day of evaluating properties, we play Cashflow 101… while eating pizza… in the Jacuzzi? Yes, we had a Cashflow – Jacuzzi – Pizza Party! There’s a first time for everything.
Here I am at Niagara Falls with my fabulous friend and business partner, Caroline Hegarty.

Here we are the Anchor Bar, proclaimed to be the original home of Buffalo Wings.

Our fabulous Realtor, Mike, teaches us about these amazing old roof areas.
